An Introduction To Nursing Schools

Author: Eddie Tobey

If someone thinks about the profession of nursing, one might be thinking about the great name of Florence Nightingale. Nursing is one of the jobs on this earth dedicated to the service of taking care of the sick and the ailing.

Even though the overall job scenario in the United States in these days is quite unpleasant, there are still plenty of jobs available for nurses. As more and more hospitals and nursing homes are coming onto the scene, the importance of nurses has also risen. Nurses are there to care for people and to teach people how to achieve better health, and to work in logical fashion in order to make sure that the patients are receiving the best of health care services in the concerned hospital or nursing home on a daily basis.

So it is clear that the career of nursing has a very wide scope. There are numerous schools (including online schools) where one can receive an education for nursing. One thing should always be borne in mind: this particular career not only depends on having human compassion and the basic feeling for human care, but also the knowledge of logical applications of various things for the utmost comfort and well-being of the patient. This is what they teach to an aspiring nurse in their nursing schools.

These schools offer a number of degrees for nursing: Post-Master's Certificate on adult NP, family NP, psychiatric CNS, and cardiopulmonary CNS, cognitive therapy, gerontology CNS, nursing of children, health services admin, injury prevention, research coordinator, and RN refresher, among others.

There are several types of nursing education available in the nursing schools. Some of the noted nursing schools in the United States are: Bellevue University, Kaplan University, Norwich University, University of Cincinnati and many others.
